Vibratory / mass finishing (tumbling)

Vibratory finishing (tumbling) is a subtractive mechanical process for pretreating parts prior to coating, in which components that can be handled as bulk material are set in motion together with grinding media. The process is particularly well suited to deburring parts. The choice of grinding media used allows both the material removal rate and the achievable surface smoothness of the workpieces to be specifically controlled.
