Air-Trapping / Scooping Geometry

Air-trapping or scooping geometries are component shapes – such as enclosed cavities, overhanging surfaces or narrow gaps – that impede electrolyte access in the coating bath and can cause defects or reduced adhesion. Vent holes and optimised component orientation prevent this as early as the design stage.
