Industry solution
Salt-Water-Resistant Corrosion Protection for Offshore
Components used offshore are exposed to salt water, moisture and constantly alternating wet and dry conditions – one of the harshest corrosion environments there is. As your development partner, we tailor electroplated corrosion protection specifically to your components and operating conditions.
Overview
Suitable Processes for Offshore
Zinc-Nickel passes the salt spray test for over 1000 hours to DIN EN ISO 9227 and is one of the classic application areas for offshore components. For fasteners and bulk parts, Zinc-Nickel drum coating offers the same corrosion protection using the economical drum process.
For aluminium components, Passivation provides additional corrosion protection and a defined surface for further processing.

What Offshore Suppliers Come to Us For
Reliable corrosion protection under extreme salt water exposure
Components used offshore are permanently exposed to salt water, moisture and alternating weather conditions – one of the harshest corrosion environments there is. The electroplated Zinc-Nickel coating passes the salt spray test for over 1000 hours to DIN EN ISO 9227.
Solution: Zinc-Nickel
Economical corrosion protection for fasteners and bulk parts
Screws, nuts and other fasteners are often produced in large quantities. The Zinc-Nickel drum coating offers the same high-performing corrosion protection as rack plating, economically applied using the drum process.
Solution: Zinc-Nickel Drum
Corrosion protection for aluminium components
Weight-optimised offshore components made of aluminium require a defined, reproducible surface as corrosion protection and as preparation for assembly or further processing. Passivation replaces the uneven natural oxide layer with a defined, thin, durable conversion coating.
Solution: Passivation of Aluminium
Reproducible quality for long service life under harsh environmental conditions
Offshore installations are designed for decades of operation under harsh conditions – the corrosion protection must support this service life. Documented process monitoring and recurring inspections ensure the required durability.
Solution: Quality inspections
Quality & process reliability
Documented Processes for Continuous Offshore Service
Before production even begins, we align the process control with the extreme operating conditions of your component. Our quality management system and ongoing product and process monitoring ensure the required long-term durability.
Our management systems are certified to IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. The certificates document the respective scopes. More on quality and environment.
