The training
The training
The training as a surface coater lasts 3 years.
During this period, you will learn the following skills, for example:
- coat and finish metals using different processes and techniques
- control and regulate surface engineering processes
- monitor galvanic installations
- Basics of electrical engineering and maintenance activities
- Laboratory (analyses, tests, documentation)
- Dealing with measuring instruments and measuring techniques in quality assurance
- Writing programmes for the coating process

- Desirable school-leaving qualification: Realschule
- Car driving licence advantageous
- Interest in technology, chemistry, physics
- Good mathematical understanding
- Ability to work in a team
- Responsibility
